Appointment

What can I expect at my appointment?

A technologist will come out to escort you to the changing room for your procedure. He or she will be with you throughout your visit. Depending on your procedure, you may be required to change into patient gowns. If you are having an MRI, you will remove all metal from your body and store it, along with your personal items, in a secure locker. Next, you will be escorted to the imaging room where the technologist will explain the details of your exam and give you an opportunity to ask questions before performing the procedure.

Do I need to book an appointment?

We perform x-rays during all business hours on a walk in basis. However, if you have a referral for several x-rays, you may schedule an appointment.  Ultrasounds, CT, and MRI do need an appointment as they often require preparation.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

Yes, we require a referral from a qualified healthcare professional, such as an MD, PA, or NP, to ensure we provide the most appropriate care and guidance for your specific needs. This is a requirement for all radiology examinations.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

✔ Current form of identification.
✔ Current insurance card.
✔ List of current medications.
✔ Insurance referral form (if needed).

Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment.

Imaging Result

How long will it take to get my results?

We aim to deliver timely and efficient exam interpretations, typically within 2-3 business days. For urgent cases, we prioritize rapid communication, promptly calling or faxing results to your referring physician. Your doctor will then follow up with you to discuss the results. Please note that interpretation may take longer if prior imaging studies or additional clinical information are necessary, as we ensure a thorough and accurate assessment.

Will technologists give results to me?

Our technologists are experts at obtaining diagnostic images and will let you know that an exam is complete. However, technologists or other staff members are not trained to read radiology exams and therefore cannot provide any results.

How can I get a copy of my results?

Once your exam has been interpreted and sent to your referring physician, you may request a copy of your report for personal use. You will need to sign a medical release to receive the report.

Insurance

What can I do if I don't have insurance?

We can provide you with a cash price quote on the procedures. Please call us at (832) 391-6173 for a detailed pricing estimate. Our self pay prices are competitive self-pay prices without compromising on cutting-edge quality

Will my insurance cover this?

We understand that navigating insurance plans can be complex, with numerous individualized plans having varying requirements. Some plans have specific medical necessity criteria for certain exams. Please confirm your coverage details with your insurance provider.

Do I need an authorization for this exam?

Most insurance companies require pre-authorization for more complicated exams, particularly MRI and CT scans. If your referring provider is unable to secure the required authorization, please contact our office directly to assist with obtaining the necessary approval from your insurance provider.  If the exam is performed without prior authorization, we cannot assure payment from your insurance company.

Can I have the test performed at any radiology facility?

Yes! You have the option to choose your own medical facility, even if your doctor suggests a specific one. It's essential to feel at ease with the facility and have confidence in the medical professionals providing care.

Should I worry about the cost since I have insurance?

Don't hesitate to ask about the cost of the test, as prices can vary greatly depending on the facility. For instance, hospitals and their outpatient sites often charge significantly more for the same exam or procedure compared to independent imaging centers. You may be surprised at the cost difference. Additionally, even with health insurance, you may still be responsible for co-pays or deductibles, so it's essential to inquire about the cost upfront.
